Ihab Jamal was born in Beirut. He began to study violin at the Lebanese Higher National Conservatory of Music, and in 2011 became a student of Professor Arthur Ter-Hovhanisian. Currently enrolled in Komitas Yerevan State Conservatory – for a Master’s Degree, Ihab was awarded 1st prize at the international competition of the Renaissance Festival which was held in 2015 in Gyumri – Armenia and 3rd place at the contest Grach Bogdnayan International Violin Festival in 2014 in Yerevan, as well as the 1st place in the Chamber Music Competition Margot Babikian in 2010 in Beirut.
Ihab is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra with Maestro Daniel Barenboim, where he appears in the concert halls of La Scala – Milan, Musikverien – Vienna, Pleyel – Paris, Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Teatro Colon in Argentina, KKL – Lucerne, Salzburg Festspiele and others.
Ihab has performed as a soloist with the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra and participated to the Aram Khachaturian International Violin Competition in 2015 as the 1st Lebanese violinist representing his country at a prestigious competition. Ihab regularly performs solo concerts in Russia, and recently at Yaroslavl Philharmonic Hall, and Rybinsk Cultural Center which earned him high recognition by the public.
