The Arthur Satyan Trio is a contemporary Jazz band known for it’s bright, smooth and innovative delivery of tunes. Bringing an eclectic repertoire to every performance, the Trio’s textures and colours articulate Arthur’s unique original compositions and arrangements.

Arthur Satyan . Piano

Arthur Satyan, the ‘Dean of Jazz Musicians’ in Lebanon, Professor of Piano at the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music since 1998, he taught, influenced and inspired almost every young jazz musician in the region.

Arthur has performed and worked with many jazz masters such as Larry Coryell, Charles Davis, Ray Vega, Ed Cherry, Joe Lee Wilson, Melissa Walker, Joe Louis Walker, Deborah Davis, just to name few.

In 2004 he opens and leads the 1st in the Middle East Jazz Department at the Lebanese National Conservatory and sets the beginning of serious jazz scene in Lebanon. He is first to academically introduce, spread the word and keep alive the teachings of great beboppers Charlie Parker, Monk, Dizzy Gillespie and Barry Harris in the region. Most of the Lebanese young jazz musicians nowadays playing around the globe, came out of Arthur’s ‘jazz courses’ and his trio, which was a starting base for many of his students.

The quality of Arthur’s arrangements, compositions and piano-playing has raised eyebrows among visiting stars Ahmad Jamal, Zakir Hussain, Steve Potts, Stefano di Battista, Arturo Sandoval, etc…
