VICTOR CHERNELEVSKY

Victor Chernelevsky is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, student of the outstanding pianist People’s Artist of the USSR, Victor Merzhanov. Victor is the Laureate of international competitions, including the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition (Special Jury Prize, Santander, Spain, 1984) and winner of the 1st prize for the best accompaniment at the International Ludwig Spohr Competition (Freiburg, Germany, 2000).

Chernelevsky masters the technique of playing antique keyboard instruments (cembalo, hammerklavier), and is one of the finest interpreters of XX and XXI centuries music in Russia. He is also a composer. On numerous occasions his compositions were performed at international festivals. He is the author of many transcriptions of compositions of Russian and world classical music that are a part of the repertoire of the Soloists Ensemble ‘Mobilis’.

As a pianist, Victor gives concerts in many cities in Russia and around the world (Germany, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Turkey) and takes part in international music festivals. He has also done extensive recording for the ‘Gold Fund’ radio.
