YEREVAN STRING QUARTET
The “Yerevan String Quartet”, founded in 2017, is dedicated to advancing the genre of the string quartet and promoting the art of chamber music performance in Armenia. Since its inception, the quartet has performed in Armenia’s most prestigious concert halls and has also taken part in numerous charity concerts and corporate events.
The ensemble was invited to perform under the baton of world-renowned conductor Riccardo Muti with the “Cherubini” Youth Orchestra as guest musicians. Its members are accomplished musicians of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and laureates of numerous national and international competitions.
The quartet’s members are: First violinist, artistic director, and founder: Narek Sahakyan, Second violinist: Gevorg Gasparyan, Violist: Hayk Ter-Hovhannisyan, and Cellist: Vahe Danielyan
The quartet’s mission is to showcase the works of Armenian classical and contemporary composers from various eras, both in Armenia and internationally, thereby contributing to the wider recognition and appreciation of Armenian culture around the world
